I visited Mini Siam, a park full of miniature models of famous worldwide landmark buildings such as Tower Bridge, Eifel Tower and so on. Unlike the average town or city, the park was very clean and well maintained and I found it to be quite a delightful time spent there. If you find the time I would recommend a visit to the park for a few hours.
I did talk to a lot of the working girls in this time and everything I have been previously made aware of was totally true. The vast majority of the girls come from the Issan region (north east corner of Thailand) and many felt it was the only way to either make money or to find a ferang husband who could provide money for them.
The vast majority did not really like what they were doing to make money but simply accepted the sad fact it was their only chance. There were other girls who had no interest in meeting a ferang to become his wife, they were there only to support their family back home, and some of them even had a husband or boyfriend (more often than not with at least 1 child) waiting for them to go back for the next major festival. I did however meet a couple of girls who just loved what they were doing and simply couldn't get enough sex to fill their desires.
The time soon came when I had to head back to England but my mind was already made up that I would be returning in the near future. It was on my last day that I got a phone call from a sobbing Suzi and all she kept saying was "I'm sorry, I am really very sorry" but that was all I could get out of her and it left me somewhat bewildered. Luckily I could contact a good friend of hers back in Bangkok so I contacted her to find out if she knew what the problem was.
Reluctantly, after much persistence by me, sh told me she was already married and had been for nearly 1 year, to a 65 year old Canadian guy and she had been waiting for her Visa to be approved so she could fly to live with him - and that happened when we were in Bangkok together. Apparently she flew to Canada the day before I flew back to my country and she had called me from the airport in Bangkok just before her departure. Ho hum, such is life. I boarded my Emirates flight the next night and made my way home still asking myself so many questions about what had happened.....I will return to this topic next time.
